It went ok.

I drove. o_o Didn't do too bad, but the prospect of driving there solo as often as I'm going to need to til the end of Nov. makes me 'eep!' considerably. Dav in the passenger seat is a BIG help. I hope I get enough experience with the route this coming week, when he has off, to not get lost or cut anybody off when I go on my own.

Ms. Jeanne says she's fairly certain Mark is NOT autistic. Thank God. He is, however, highly delayed in his speech development, and she wants to see him twice a week, as long as his referral from Tricare lasts, which is until Nov. 30th. She referred me to a program on our side of the water, the Newport News Infants Program, which takes speech-delayed kids from 18 months to three years old. They do in-home therapy. That's going to require some in-home inspections and paperwork, which will be a pain in the ass, but with luck, we can have it taken care of before the end of Nov. (Presumably we can get the referral extended if need be.) She mentioned a lot of parents are reluctant do do the in-home programs, because of the inspections. I told her I was willing to go through the hassle, because the sooner we get started on this, the easier it will be to make progress with Mark. Mark-chan's wellbeing is the important thing.

We scheduled Mark for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. This coming Tuesday he can't go, because of the audiologist visit. Ms. Jeanne described him as being highly sensory oriented, which does fit with what I've seen of him. He likes touching, and tasting, and is terribly sensitive to certain noises. She also wants him to go to occupational therapy, which can be handled at their facility. I need to call Mark's doctor to get a referral for that too.

Jack-jack is still having issues with gas, constipation, and sleeping, which make me a bit of a zombie. I really wish breastfeeding had worked out better. ::sigh:: I'm going to talk to his dr. at his weigh-in next month, and see what she suggests. I really don't want to introduce prune juice yet, but he's definitely having tummy troubles.

Now, to pry myself away from tvtropes. ::accusatory stare at [livejournal.com profile] nagaina_ryuuoh:: And make Mark lunch.
