sethrak: Lil' Mittens in a sidecar (Sidecar)
Settling for Lil' Mittens on a side-car as the most motion related icon.

This week I embarked on yet another attempt to incorporate regular exercise into my routine. Monday-Wed.-Friday, right after Davner gets home from work.

Monday, speed-walked around the indoor track at the base gym for 30 minutes. Normally my shin muscles are the only part of my legs that don't feel the effects of that kind of exercise, but this time, they definitely noticed. Felt a very faint ache in those muscles ever since.

Wednesday got rescheduled because of work-related conflicts for Dav.

Thursday I did three laps around the indoor track, then used the elliptical machine. Set it to fat burn cycle, my weight and age, 30 minutes. (Cardio cycle is entirely too ass-kicking for my current fitness level.) Didn't expect to finish the full 30 minutes; last time I used the elliptical, a few months ago, I had to stop within five minutes because my knee started to act up.

Managed to last 22 minutes before I had to quit. ^_^ V The muscles and joints all along my back, hips, glutes, and thighs were distinctly unhappy with their despotic ruler afterwards, but as of this morning, the only area still bitching are the glutes. My weight's holding steady around 150. I'd kinda like to see it eventually get down around 140, but I will be perfectly satisfied with staying at or even a little above 150 if I can improve my overall fitness level and increase my muscle mass.

Today's thrilling agenda

Emergency laundry (Only my child could puke all over his bed, and be so unphased by it that he's merrily twirling in circles chanting "DehNEEEEEEEE!!!!!" as is his wont, when I enter the room.)
Drag Mark in from the back yard around 10. Give emergency bath (again) if needed. It's picture day.
Feed Mark.
Load backpack with extra shirt and tomato-flavor Triscuits. (I do NOT know what possessed his teacher to choose hand-made microwave pizzas as snack on Picture Day. Everyone else is getting English muffins (allergens) with tomato sauce (no allergens), cheese (Red alert!), mushrooms, and black olives. Mark's getting triscuits with tomato sauce and the veggies. and triscuits with veggies and no sauce. He's tried snitching fruit chunks from other kids as snack before, which is freaking awesome from the standpoint of trying new foods, for him. Ms. Villa said he only tasted the fruit after seeing the other kids do it. So we're hoping seeing them eat the veggies will also encourage him.)
Dress goofy Zodling.
Stuff said Zodling onto bus.
Feed Jack.(Assuming he is willing to eat instead of photosynthesize.)
Sort non-emergency laundry.
Do the payday stockup of diapers, pullups, juice, etc.
Call UMUC about school-related things.
Fit in more laundry loads at some point.
Collect Mark from schoolbus.
Dig out Halloween decorations at some point. (I hope my Nightmare before Christmas figures survived the move.)

Dav's off to obtain Chinese food and pie from Village Inn. Jack fell asleep on the living room carpet within a few moments of being released from his high chair. Mark fell asleep about ten minutes after that, snuggled against my side on the couch, volubly burbling and waving his hands until almost the last moment before his eyes shut. So cute. ^_^ I carried them upstairs a little bit ago.

Tonight's agenda: Lots of Chinese food. Pie! And more of the latest Slayers series. (I still find Pokota's character and visual design incredibly annoying. Dav and I are still convinced that this series makes Zelgadis and Amelia canon, even without any explicit statement to that effect so far.)

(Also, while I am doing Deadpool-esque parentheticals.... We finished Macross Frontier two weeks ago. I will not spoil excessively - but all I can say is, Alto, if your love life is starting to look like the ideal espoused by Kuno Tatewaki, The Blue Thunder of Furinkan High - YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.)
