My firstborn son is in peril of sale to gypsies or just plain being given away if door-to-door Shakers materialize on our doorstep this afternoon. There's only four Shakers left in the world, so I would rather think they'd pay us handsomely for the privilege of taking him off our hands, toddler goofiness and all.
Lunch was not fun. We're trying to work on his silverware skills, something we kinda let go in the tumult of Jack's birth and adjusting to another child in the house. He spat out the majority of his chunks of chicken after barely chewing them. He LOVES grilled chicken. He held his hands over his ears and just plain refused to have anything to do with his fruit after only a couple bites... Ok, so it's a different variety of fruit cup than his usual, but... He loves peaches. He loves pears. He at least seems to like pineapple. I could perhaps understand his not wanting to try grapes or cherries, as they are New And Strange and most right-thinking toddlers freak out at such things... But outright refusal of *all* of his fruit?!
So I tossed him in the playpen for a time out while I ate my lunch, then we tried again. The fruit was a reasonable success, but the chicken was again spat out partially chewed. I am grossed out. So he got tossed in his crib for naptime a little early.
Remind me why we think transitioning him from a crib he at least cannot climb out of, if not always falls asleep in when we want, to a toddler bed in the next couple of weeks, is a good idea? -_-
Tricare says that Mark's referrals were sent out of network and we will receive a letter within 7 to 10 business days telling us which civilian provider Mark will be sent to. Sigh.
Am about to put away laundry and use my workout DVD, as Jack is being a good little bear cub in his swing. ^_^ He still dribbles a lot of formula, and needs to be burped just about every ounce or so, but today he's being fairly good.
