Further Adventures of the KSMNs....
Or, for those of you who have no clue what that means, The Kawaii Shrine Maiden Ninja squad, militant arm of the Give Sylphiel A Chance Foundation and defenders of Sylphiel-sama's reputation.
Whilst pestering WillZ, I come up with another peculiar idea for them. Never mind why Will was running in the first place. ^_^

SethraK: I said I was siccing one of their pet ferrets on you.
will6213: ah.. but if it were kiki,, wouldn't it have aske me to stay good? xx

SethraK: Nope. This isn't Kiki. :) They simply fell for Kiki's kawaiiness, but on sober reflection, they realized a combat ferret would be a better pet for ninjas.

will6213: o.O I'm glad they didn't opt for bunbuns..
SethraK: No... he's too vicious. They want something that can help out on their missions without BunBun's psychotic malice.

SethraK: Rigorous ninja training. Altered to fit ferret psychology.

One of these years I really do need to start working this into a tale.

They're kawaii, and snuggly, and more trouble than Mihoshi in Washu's lab.
They'd also have more sense than to confuse navy for black when choosing their mission attire, unlike that baka Snidely in the admittedly appalling live action movie.
Maybe we could add trained hedgehogs for the really deep-cover covert ops.... They'd be free of the shiny object fetish, would be less prone to blowing their cover by gratuitous poinging about, and could hide better because they're so small.
But the girls would pout and look sad if I took away their pet ferrets completely.
